Featuring the same construction as the wider Backland 108 W, the ski employs FreeTour Profile to create a touring ski with serious downhill power. A poplar and caruba Ultra Light Woodcore provides the ideal balance of low weight and optimum performance and the three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for better float in deeper snow conditions. Powder Rocker delivers prominent tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot for effortless, playful handling in deep powder, crud, and chop. A reinterpretation of the original Backland, this ski is built with more wood and less fiberglass, metal, and resin to reduce material-based CO2 equivalent emissions by 26% (compared with the Backland 100, 2022). Developed with input from skiers like Amie Engerbretson, it’s the soulful performance and uphill efficiency of the Backland 101 W that keeps her skiing deeper into the mountains.

HRZN 3D Backland

This lightweight HRZN 3D tip uses a thin, perforated material for better float in deep snow.

FreeTour Profile

FreeTour Profile uses less fiberglass and more poplar wood for more powerful skiing performance.

Ultra Light Woodcore

The poplar and caruba woodcore create a balance of low weight and optimum performance.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass layers create a ski that is smooth and stable while remaining lightweight and dynamic.

Dura Cap Side Wall

Sidewall from base to top sheet for great edge grip, with a rounded shape for increased durability.

Directional Shape

Minimal tail rocker for more edge contact creating better grip and stability.

Glossy Topsheet

A glossy topsheet gives your ski a polished, glassy finish for a super-sleek high-end look.

Powder Rocker 20/65/15

Pronounced tip and tail rocker combined with camber underfoot for deep and variable snow.

Side Edge Angle: 87°

A side edge angle of 87° for more intuitive handling, easier skiing and better grip.

Base Edge Angle: 1.0°

A 1.0° base edge angle for easy turning, excellent edge grip and aggressive tracking.

Flat

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1042/5868/files/AA0030916__a95d203e1bdb7d547fc5017bfdad02f6.webp?v=1783184184
